This show’s title comes from a phenomenon that is common to me. In that I’ve had several friends over the years with whom I share eerily similar experiences which are separated by only time, space & individual choices in mood enhancers.

200 years ago I coulda been a ‘Jefferson type’, a Renaissance Man, maybe I could of been a friend of his… But in today’s society most of the people I meet socially sell weed… Their very enterprising really… You’d be amazed at how many skills and trades they work in… sorry back to my point…
I work with computers and write, I’ve managed businesses (successfully, that’s important by the way), worked in insurance, accounting, corporate finance, the airline industry (during 9/11), health care, driven trucks, shoveled doody and entertainment…
Today, I stand here before you making ‘pithy’ remarks…
It’s funny how in today’s society being a ‘Polymath‘ is kind of looked down upon… University’s are no longer institutions of learning for the sake of knowledge… Their trade schools… you used to go to school to learn and then AFTER school you’d pick a trade…
But all that’s tough to get through during an interview… So now I write jokes and work out of the house…
Not that I miss fighting traffic,… the coffee hogs who never make a fresh damned pot… that’s just rude… my Mom didn’t even drink coffee but she’d smack you upside the head for that one… I don’t miss the ‘office politics’… Or all the women undressing me with their eyes… it’s just uncomfortable… Hey!, my eyes are up here Miss…
Somewhere along the way everyone has forgotten to ‘just be’… We’re all in a rush… gotta pick a career, what are you going to do with your future… never mind a 17 yr old can’t be trusted to pick out a matching shirt in the morning… what’s your religion, what do you believe, how many hours can you work, can you stay late, when are you coming in, pick up the laundry, go to the store, pay the bills, go back to work, I hate this job, but you gotta pay the bills… or you won’t be able to pay for the cards and the tv then they’ll take the car, the house, then the kids…
That’s why I just smack myself in the face once a day with a ball peen hammer and ‘relax’…
What, were you expecting something “deep” at the end of this??? I told you in the beginning I make ‘pithy’ remarks… If you want answers you need to go to one of those “Sit Down” philosophers….

Been a busy couple of weeks as I’ve been looking for another IT contract, then of course the wonderful tanking of the market…. It’s really interesting to watch a spouse as one’s investments ‘dwindle’ due to the current fiduciary mis-management we call the ‘Bush Administration’…. aka ‘The Work of a TRUE Dick’…. I prefer to look at it as a time for me to buy MORE of my favorite stocks at a BARGAIN RATE…. It sucks but eventually it will go back up and if you’ve got the cash to ‘put in’ now do it, in 5 to 8 years it will pay off!!!…. You have to sort of ‘breath with’ the stock market Daniel-san….
But never fear A NEW GIG IS HERE!!!…. So I got a new gig that looks to be permanent and close to the domicile so all is going well NOW…. So I get to enjoy this week till I start on the 20th with nothing to do but ENJOY and relax…. Ahhhhh, now doesn’t that feel better!
So I’ll probably be trying to do a couple of Open Mike Nights this week at the usual places listed in my “Stuff I Like” section…. If your in the Bay Area this week come on down and check it out!…

You know, I really don’t think the closet this guy was in was too ‘deep’, maybe it was more like a cardboard ‘moving box’…. You know one of those really sturdy ones you can put a metal bar in to hang all your closet stuff when you move (they are VERY helpful), but how is this news???….
Is there anyone out there that is TRULY shocked by the news that Clay Aiken is gay?… I mean OTHER than his mother and possibly his father, but come on man you HAD to suspect it, and maybe the former fans of Liberace….
These obtuse middle aged women fans are a phenomenon I do not understand…. These are women who will probably all vote for McCain and would consider themselves ‘conservatives’ so they are ‘religiously opposed’ to homosexuality, yet when it comes to entertainment they LOVE to see a guy who is OBVIOUSLY gay perform as long as he doesn’t ‘flaunt it’ in front of them in public by living his life as he wants…
I don’t get it, I mean I’m straight I just don’t get it… HOW COULD ANYONE NOT HAVE KNOWN???… I’m not opposed to homosexuality, HELL I live in San Francisco if I was I would have a SERIOUS issue!!!!….
I’m glad that I live in a city where people can be themselves and not have to worry, for the most part, about doing everything all the rest of us enjoy with our partner… I’d think just being able to hold hands in public and give one another a quick peck on the lips has got to be a hell of a thing to enjoy when you can’t do it in most other places in the world… No one cares here, it’s not an issue just as it shouldn’t be anywhere, who cares, it’s not like you have to sit there and watch them…. Though that can be HOT too!!!… Sorry I couldn’t resist the urge to throw in a stupid joke…. But you get my point.
